Tata Motors honoured the Indian women’s cricket team for their historic ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 triumph by gifting each player a Tata Sierra to celebrate landmark achievement. The entire world cup winning squad was pictured alongside N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPVL), and Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TMPVL, during the felicitation ceremony. The players were presented with the newly launched Tata Sierra.
As a gesture of appreciation for their exceptional performance on the world stage, Tata Motors had announced that every member of the World Cup-winning team will
receive a Tata Sierra of their choice.
"The Company will be presenting the top-end model of the Sierra to each member of the team, applauding their indomitable spirit and recognizing their immense contribution and sacrifice in bringing glory to the country," Tata Motors said, in a statement on Thursday, November 6.
India finally ended their decades-long wait for a Women’s World Cup title after defeating South Africa in the final on Sunday, November 2, in Navi Mumbai. Powered by a brisk 87 from Shafali Verma and a five-wicket haul by Deepti Sharma, India sealed a commanding 52-run victory in front of a packed home crowd.
