Pakistan will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they face Zimbabwe in their second Super-12 match at the Perth Stadium. Zimbabwe are above Pakistan in the group table after the latter suffered a 4-wicket loss to rivals India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

While Pakistan lost their opening game against India, Zimbabwe's match was abandoned due to rain, with the side forced to share points with South Africa. Pakistan and Zimbabwe have played 17 T20Is against each other with Pakistan winning 16 games while the African nation claimed just a solitary victory.

Even though Pakistan lost against India, they can take positives out of the performance of their middle-order in difficult conditions in Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe would consider themselves lucky to have got a point in their match against South Africa. Quinton de Kock was going all guns blazing at 47 runs from 18 balls when rain interrupted play and forced the match to end in a draw.

Pakistan batter Iftikhar Ahmed said the team was disappointed after the defeat against India but Babar Azam has managed to lift the players after the loss.

"Obviously, after losing such a big match, there's a disappointment. It was a heart-wrenching defeat. More than 20 crore people were backing us but it was disappointing to not win. That's not an easy defeat to digest. But Babar Azam and the coaches reminded the players that this wasn't our last match but our first in the World Cup," said Iftikhar.
