Sam Curran on Sunday won the Player of the Tournament award at the T20 World Cup 2022 after shining in the big final against Pakistan for England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The left-arm pacer bowler took 13 wickets in the Super 12 stage of the tournament, delivering for England both in powerplays and at the death.

Sam Curran shone in the final as well, picking up 3 wickets for 12 runs in his 4-over spell. Curran also became the first specialist fast bowler to take home the award as England went on to win their second men's T20 World Cup title, emulating West Indies's feat

from 2012 and 2016.

Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga topped the bowling charts with 15 wickets but it was Sam Curran, who topped the list from the Super 12 stage. Curran's economy rate of 6.52 was staggering, considering the way he bowled the difficult overs for England.

Curran also made it a special T20 World Cup campaign as he had picked up a 5-wicket haul in the Super 12 stage against Afghanistan.

Having missed the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup for England due to injury, Curran's comeback has been nothing short of spectacular.
