Shikhar Dhawan-led Delhi put up a massive 212-run total on board against Kerala in Elite Group E match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Trophy 2021 on Friday but opener Robin Uthappa made a mockery of the target by helping his team win the game with 6 balls remaining.

The Rajasthan Royals star smashed 3 fours and 8 sixes to score 91 off 54 balls in the match, partnering for 132 runs off 65 balls with Vishnu Vinod, who remained unbeaten on 71 in the match.

Kerala lost Mohammed Azharuddeen, the 37-ball centurion from their previous match and captain Sanju Samson early on in their run-chase but Uthappa brought in all his experience to navigate through experienced

Delhi attack including the likes of Ishant Sharma, Pradeep Sangwan and Pawan Negi.

Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan scored 77 off 48 balls after being asked to bat first by Samson. Himmat Singh scored 26 and Nitish Rana accumulated 16 before Lalit Yadav chipped in with 52 to partner with Dhawan for 51 runs for the 4th wicket.

Delhi's scorecard read 156 for 4 when Dhwan departed on the first ball of 17th over. Lalit Yadav (51* off 25) and wicketkeeper-batsman Anuj Rawat (27* off 10) then combined to score 56 of 23 and take the team's total to 212 at the end of 20 overs.

Kerala pacer Sreesanth scalped two wickets (Shikhar Dhawan and Nitish Rana) in the match.
