Sri Lanka off-spinner Dilruwan Perera on Wednesday announced his retirement from international cricket. The 39-year-old brought an end to his 15-year-long international career.

Dilruwan Perera, however, will continue playing domestic cricket in Sri Lanka, a Sri Lanka Cricket release said.

"Dilruwan Perera, who represented the Sri Lanka National Team, announced his retirement from all forms of International Cricket with immediate



effect. In his retirement letter written to Sri Lanka Cricket, Perera however said, he will continue to play Domestic Cricket. Sri Lanka Cricket wishes him the very best for his future endeavors," SLC said.

Dilruwan Perera made his international debut in 2007 and last played for the senior national team in January 2021. He played 43 Tests and scored 1303 runs and picked up 161 wickets. He played 13 ODIs and 3 T20Is picking up 16 wickets across the 2 formats.
