Former BCCI president and Indian team captain Sourav Ganguly is set to take up his first coaching role. On Sunday, August 24, Ganguly was announced as the head coach of the SA20 side Pretoria Capitals ahead of the 2026 season.
Ganguly will succeed Jonathan Trott as the coach of the Pretoria side after the former England batter stepped down from the role on Saturday, August 23.
"The Prince is all set to bring a royal flair to the
Capitals camp! We are ecstatic to announce Sourav Ganguly as our new head coach," the Centurion-based franchise wrote on Instagram.
Alongside Ganguly, Pretoria Capitals also announced the appointment of Shaun Pollock as the assistant coach of the side.
"A new era of cricketing brilliance has arrived for the Capitals! Ushering in this new chapter is our new Assistant Coach, Protean legend Shaun Pollock," said the Capitals on Instagram.
