Smriti Mandhana, on Saturday, June 25, became the fifth Indian batter to score 2000 runs in T20Is. The southpaw accomplished the milestone during India’s T20I against Sri Lanka at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.

Prior to the game, Mandhana was only 28 runs short of the milestone and he achieved it without breaking a sweat. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli,



Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur are the other Indian batters with 2000 plus runs in the shortest format of international cricket.

Mandhana scored 39 runs off 34 balls with eight fours after India were asked to chase down 126 by Chamari Athapaththu and Co. The left-handed batter was also involved in a handy 38-run partnership for the third wicket with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
