Smriti Mandhana back in nets after saying wedding is off

India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana returned to the training ground a day after confirming that her wedding with composer Palash Muchhal had been called off. Smriti was seen batting, wearing a training jersey, padded up and facing throwdowns at what appeared to be a private facility.

Her brother, Shravan Mandhana, shared a photo of the star cricketer in action on Instagram, accompanied by heart emojis. The picture quickly went viral on social media, with many praising Smriti’s dedication in getting back to the



field during a difficult time.

Smriti, who played an integral role in India's Women's World Cup 2025 triumph, will return to competitive action in a five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home from December 21 to 30. The matches will be played in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram and will serve as India's preparation for next year's T20 World Cup.

Smriti will also lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the upcoming Women's Premier League, starting January 9 in Navi Mumbai.
