Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the ODI series against New Zealand and Rajat Patidar has been named as his replacement.

"Team India batter Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a back injury. Rajat Patidar has been named as his replacement," BCCI said in a statement. "He will be heading to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further assessment and management," the statement added.

Shreyas Iyer has been in exceptional form for Team India, particularly in the ODI format. Iyer has played 38 innings and has smashed 1631 runs with two 100s and 14 50s to his name. His highest score is 113*. He averages 46.60 at a strike rate of 96.50.
