Shafali Verma of India has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November 2025 after a match-defining performance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final against South Africa last month at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
She made a decisive impact in the title clash with a brilliant 87 at the top of the order, adding 104 runs for the opening wicket alongside Smriti Mandhana — her highest ODI score and first fifty in more than three years.
Shafali then showcased her all-round influence, returning figures of 7-0-36-2 as she ripped through the South African lineup, dismissing key batters Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp.
With Harmanpreet Kaur’s inspired call to hand her the ball paying rich
dividends, India bowled out the Proteas for 246 to bring an end to their prolonged wait for an ICC title.
“My first ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup experience didn’t go as I expected but it ended far better than I could have ever wished or imagined," Verma said.
“I’m grateful that I could contribute to the team’s success in the Final and that I was able to be a part of making history in winning the World Cup for the first time and in front of a home crowd.
“I’m truly honoured to be named the Women’s Player of the Month for November. I dedicate this award to my teammates, coaches, family and everyone who has supported my journey until now. We win and lose as a team, the same goes for this award," Verma added.
