Indian tennis star Sania Mirza's ex-husband, Shoaib Malik, has made the headlines yet again. As per media reports, Shoaib is heading towards a divorce with his third wife, Sana Javed.
The speculations took rife after a video went viral on social media. In the video, both Malik and his wife, Sana, are seen maintaining distance and not communicating with each other in public. The ex-Pakistani cricketer can be seen signing autographs for his fans, while Sana kept her face turned away.
Shoaib and Sana had announced their marriage in January 2024, after the former Pakistani cricketer had separated from his second wife, Sania Mirza, the Indian tennis legend.
Malik was married to Mirza in 2010 and had a son named Izyan. The two divorced in 2024, with Mirza's family confirming the separation. "Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a
few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy," a statement released by the family and her team noted.
Meanwhile, before marrying Mirza, Shoaib was married to Ayesha Siddiqui for eight years. Shoaib's separation from Sana Javed is yet to be confirmed by either party, but the reports have claimed that their relationship is heading towards a divorce following the viral video.
Shoaib has retired from Tests and ODIs and has expressed that he has no interest in playing for Pakistan in T20Is anymore. "I have already said that I do not have any interest in playing for the Pakistan Cricket team. I have already retired from two formats, Tests and ODIs. In T20Is, I do not have any interest in playing for the Pakistan team. So my plan is to retire from all forms of cricket once and for all," Shoaib had said last year.
