Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul on Sunday was admitted to a hospital after he complained of severe abdomen pain on Saturday night, the former finalists have said. Punjab, in a statement, added that Rahul was diagnosed with acute appendicitis after not responding to medication.

Punjab Kings said that Rahul was initially taken to the emergency room inside the bio-bubble in Ahmedabad but was shifted to a hospital later. The franchise also said the issue will be "resolved surgically".

"KL Rahul complained of severe abdomen pain last night and after not responding to medication, he was taken to the emergency room for further tests which revealed he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. It will be resolved surgically and for safety measures has been transferred to the hospital for the same," Punjab Kings said in a statement.

KL Rahul is likely to be out of action in the near future as he has exited the bio-bubble for the surgery. After recovering from appendicitis, Rahul has to serve the mandatory quarantine period to re-enter the Punjab Kings bio-bubble.
