The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will run from March 26 to May 3 next year, once again overlapping with the Indian Premier League and necessitating changes to Pakistan’s international calendar.

Speaking at the PSL roadshow in New York on Sunday, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan’s international commitments during this period would be adjusted, including the March–April tour of Bangladesh featuring two World Test Championship matches, three ODIs and three T20Is.

The IPL traditionally begins in the final week of March and

continues until the end of May, resulting in a second consecutive season of overlap between the two leagues.

Naqvi also revealed that the auction for the PSL’s two new franchises is scheduled for January 8.

The PSL was staged in the same window last season due to the Champions Trophy being hosted in Pakistan.

For the first nine editions, the league was played in February–March, but that window is now occupied by the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be held this year in India and Sri Lanka. Since its launch in 2016, the franchise tournament has been staged in the UAE or Pakistan.
