PCB unhappy as ICC omits Pakistan captain Salman Agha from T20 World Cup ticket poster

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally expressed its discontent to the International Cricket Council (ICC) following the release of the T20 World Cup 2026 ticket sales poster, which does not feature Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha. The absence of Agha's image on the poster has prompted the PCB to address the matter directly with the ICC, highlighting the significance of representation in global tournaments.

According to a reliable source within the PCB, the promotional poster issued by the ICC included only five captains: Suryakumar Yadav (India), Aiden Markram (South Africa), Mitchell Marsh (Australia), Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka), and Harry Brook (England). The source emphasized that Pakistan's leadership deserved recognition alongside other major cricketing nations.

A PCB source revealed that they faced similar issues during the Asia Cup and the situation was later rectified by Asian Cricket Council



(ACC).

"We faced the same issues when the Asia Cup was held a few months back and that time the broadcasters had started a promotional campaign without our captain featuring in it," a reliable source in the PCB was quoted as saying by PTI.

The source revealed that only after the PCB spoke to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the situation changed. A similar course of action is now being pursued with the ICC regarding the T20 World Cup 2026. "We are facing a similar situation this time as the ICC has not projected our captain on the promotional poster for ticket sales," the source added..

Despite Pakistan not being in the top five of the ICC T20 rankings at present, the PCB maintains that the country holds a significant place in the cricketing world and commands a strong following at global tournaments. The PCB is optimistic that the ICC will make the necessary adjustments to ensure the inclusion of the Pakistan captain in its promotional efforts.
