PCB postpone Karachi ODI, Test against Bangladesh amid novel coronavirus

Another international series succumbed to the Coronavirus outbreak as the Pakistan Cricket Board postponed the upcoming ODI and the Test match against Bangladesh. The one-off ODI was scheduled to be initially played on April 1 and the Test match, which is the second of the series - part of the World Test Championship - was scheduled to start on April 5. Both games were scheduled to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The Test series which commenced already after a lot of deliberation is currently 1-0 in favour of Pakistan. The hosts beat Bangladesh by an innings and 44 runs in



the contest last month in Rawalpindi. The PCB has stated that they will work with the Bangladesh Cricket Board and identify a window to complete the series later.

The board has also indefinitely postponed the Pakistan Cup. The domestic one-day competition was initially scheduled to start on March 25. The virus, declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, has resulted in the suspension of major sporting events across the world. International cricket has already seen England's tour of Sri Lanka, South Africa's tour of India, New Zealand's tour of Australia get affected as a result.
