Pakistan's mentor Matthew Hayden said that the Babar Azam-led side's victory over India in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup was "brilliant".

Mohammad Rizwan (71 off 51) and Mohammad Nawaz's (42 off 20) knocks helped Pakistan to beat India by five wickets. The victory came a week after India got the better of Pakistan by five wickets in their opening match of the continental

tournament.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday appointed former Australia cricketer Hayden as the team's mentor for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, beginning in October.

"I have seen how Pakistan have been performing in the ACC T20 Asia Cup and Sunday’s win over India was brilliant," Hayden said in a PCB statement after being named as Pakistan's mentor.
