Mumbai Indians scored 162/9 in the first innings of the IPL 2020 opener vs Chennai Super Kings. 

The match is being telecast on Star Sports and Hotstar.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss against Mumbai Indians (MI) and opted to bowl first. Rohit Sharma (12) and Quinton de Kock (33) got MI off to a flying start before it was new recruit Piyush Chawla who got the first wicket in the 5th over. Sam Curran struck soon after to give CSK two quick wickets. Suryakumar Yadav (17) and Saurabh Tiwary (42) then built a steadying partnership, before the former holed out in the deep off Deepak Chahar. Faf du Plessis took two back-to-back boundary catches to see the ends of Tiwary and Hardik Pandya (14). 

CSK pulled things back after the quick wickets to end the MI innings at 162/9 in 20 overs. In the chase, CSK lost both their openers in the first two



overs.

James Pattinson bowls the 2nd over. Mumbai's pace attack could be the ace up their sleeve in this IPL in UAE season. Watson's wicket has brought out Faf du Plessis at 3. Big appeal for LBW against Vijay. MI do not take the Review after much deliberation. Gavaskar reckons Vijay would have been a gonner. Pattinson strikes Vijay on the pad again! This time the umpire raises his finger. Vijay is out for 1. Pattinson has bowled a maiden. MI are flying! 

Shane Watson is gone in the first over. He faces three dot ball, slashes a four over the inner circle and is then caught on his pads by a Boult inswinger. Watson goes for 4. CSK lose their first wicket. 5/1 after 1 over, with Boult having struck for MI.
