MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma cheered for Team India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal against Harry Brook’s England on Thursday, March 5. Fans were thrilled to see them applauding the Men in Blue as the Indian batters went for big shots on a batting-friendly pitch, putting up 253 for seven after being asked to bat first.
The 44-year-old Dhoni was seen alongside Rohit, the T20 World Cup brand ambassador, as they clapped enthusiastically when the Indian batters were putting pressure on the English bowlers. Dhoni's presence energised the crowd and highlighted
his enduring connection to Indian cricket, serving as a reminder of his illustrious career and leadership legacy, even five and a half years after retiring from international cricket.
Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, led India to T20 World Cup glory in 2024 in the West Indies and the United States. He retired from T20Is soon after guiding India to victory against South Africa. In May last year, Rohit also retired from Test cricket and currently remains active only in ODIs. The former Indian skipper will next be seen in action playing for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2026.
