MS Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni on Wednesday hosted Team India for dinner at his home in Ranchi ahead of the third one day international against Australia on Friday. India lead the five-match series 2-0 after victories in Hyderabad and Nagpur.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took to Twitter to thank Dhoni for hosting the Indian team.

"Thank you for last night @msdhoni bhai and @SaakshiSRawat bhabhi," Chahal tweeted.

Dhoni has played a total of three ODIs at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, in which India have won one, lost one and rain washed the third match. Dhoni has batted only twice in Ranchi in which he has scored 10 not out (vs England on October 23 of 2013) and 11 (vs New Zealand on October 26 of 2016). In terms of wicket-keeping on his home turf, Dhoni has three catches and a stumping in Ranchi.

Dhoni has already collected 301 runs from just eight matches at a staggering average of 100.33 in the ongoing season ahead of the 2019 ICC World Cup. Overall, Dhoni has played 340 ODIs and scored more than 10,000 runs at an average of just under 51.

Dhoni also recently joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly

and Rahul Dravid in an elite list of Indian batsmen to have scored over 13000 runs in List A cricket.

In the 1st ODI, Dhoni had also become the most prolific six-hitter for India in one-day internationals as he hit his 216th ODI six to overtake Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, a humble Dhoni has also declined to inaugurate the pavilion named after him at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Stadium.

Just like the Sunil Gavaskar stand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai or the Virender Sehwag gate at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, the swanky JSCA stadium will have its very own 'Mahendra Singh Dhoni Pavilion'.

"At the AGM last year, the decision was taken that the North Block stand that comprises media enclosure as well as VIP boxes would be named after Dhoni," Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) secretary Debashis Chakraborty told PTI on Wednesday.

However, Dhoni didn't agree to inaugurate the stand, said Chakraborty.

"We requested him but he said 'Dada apne hi ghar mein kya inaugurate karna.' (What's there to inaugurate in my own house). He is still so humble and down to earth, Chakraborty said.
