It seemed like the cricket Gods decided to reward Mohammed Siraj, the lion-hearted man who bowled the living daylights out of his body across five Tests, on the final day of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy with a match-winning spell and a five-wicket haul, which he will remember for long time coming. Siraj was in his fifth over of the spell since the start of the morning and snuffed out three of the four England batters, including Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton and the final one of Gus Atkinson to register his second five-wicket haul of the series.
Siraj, with that fifer, reached 23 wickets for the series, ending as the leading wicket-taker for the series and equalled the India record for most wickets by a bowler in a series in England. Jasprit Bumrah also took 23 wickets in the 2021/22 series. Siraj now has 46 wickets in England, the third most for an Indian bowler, with both Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma tied on 51 wickets in the country.

This was Siraj's fifth five-wicket haul in Test matches, as well as the World Test Championship (WTC), equalling Axar Patel. For India, Bumrah is at the top of the list with 12 five-wicket hauls in the WTC, followed by R Ashwin (11) and Ravindra Jadeja (six). Siraj was named the Player of the Match, as he finished with nine for the match.
India levelled the series 2-2 with a six-run win and the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy was shared.
