Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma joined an elite list as he became only the 3rd batsman to reach 5000 IPL runs after RCB captain Virat Kohli and Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina on Friday.

Rohit is currently placed at the third position in the list of highest run-scorers in IPL with over 5,000 runs. Kohli has scored 5430 runs in 180 matches at an average of 37.12. Raina, on the other hand, has scored 5368 runs in 193 games at an average of 33.34.

While Kohli (5430 IPL runs) has been the fastest to reach the 5000-mark, in 157 innings, Raina (5368 IPL runs) is second in the list as he took 173 innings to complete 5000 runs. Rohit

Sharma, the newest entry in the list, has taken 187 IPL innings and is the slowest among the 3 IPL stalwarts.

Rohit also reached the 600-run mark against KXIP when he scored his 10th run in IPL 2020 clash. This is the fifth IPL team against which Rohit Sharma has scored more than 600 IPL runs. Rohit will have his task cut out against a KXIP attack which has Mohammed Shami and Sheldon Cottrell in the pace department and Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi as spinners.

Rohit, who is also the most successful captain in the Indian Premier League having led Mumbai Indians to 4 IPL titles, is certain to be etched in the record books as an IPL legend.
