KL Rahul became the first batter to score 1000 runs for LSG in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-handed batter achieved the feat in Lucknow’s match against Gujarat on Sunday, April 7 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Rahul was 17 runs short of the milestone, and he reached the landmark with ease.

In 28 matches for LSG since he first joined the franchise back in 2022, the right-handed batter has racked up 1016 runs at an average of 42.33 and a strike-rate of 127.79 with 2 centuries and 7 fifties to his name. Back in 2022, Rahul won 2 Player of the Match awards, both against the Mumbai team at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Both times, he stayed not out on 103.

After opting to bat first, LSG went on to score 163 for the loss of 5 wickets.

In 4 matches in IPL 2024, the 31-year-old Rahul has racked up 126 runs at an average of 31.50 and a strike-rate of 128.57 with a top score of 58 against Rajasthan on March 24 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
