Knight Riders get a new home, become first franchise with own stadium in California

The Knight Riders have a new home, but this time it’s not in Kolkata. The LA Knight Riders will now play at their own dedicated ground in California, marking a first for any IPL-owned franchise.

The franchise announced the Knight Riders Cricket Field at Fairplex in Pomona as their official home for 2026, a big step in their global expansion. Speaking about the development, Knight Riders owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan said the moment was special for the franchise.

“Over the years, the Knight Riders have grown into a truly global family, and every new milestone is special for us,” Shah Rukh Khan said.

He added that having a home base in Los Angeles is something the team hopes to build on.

“Seeing the Los Angeles Knight Riders have a home of their own is incredibly exciting. The USA is a great sporting market with passionate fans, and we hope this field becomes a place where people come together to celebrate the game and support the team,” he



said.

Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore said Los Angeles is an important market for the franchise.

“Los Angeles is one of the world’s most dynamic sports markets and an important home for the Knight Riders brand,” Mysore said.

He added that the partnership with Fairplex is a long-term move to grow the sport.

“Establishing the Knight Riders Cricket Field in partnership with Fairplex is a major milestone for our franchise, and we look forward to building the sport in this region,” he said.

This move is not just about having a ground, but about setting up a proper base in the USA.

With a fixed venue in Southern California, LA Knight Riders can now build a local fanbase instead of shifting venues. The ground is expected to host Major League Cricket matches, giving fans regular access to top-level cricket.

What makes this move stand out is that no other IPL-owned franchise currently has a dedicated stadium of its own.
