Jammu and Kashmir, after drawing the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final, have scripted history and have clinched their maiden Ranji final. While many backed Karnataka to take the title once more, Jammu and Kashmir proved the critics wrong and etched their names in the history books.
It is worth noting that the game ended in a draw, but due to Jammu and Kashmir holding the lead in the first innings of the game, the side was declared the winners as they clinched their maiden title.
Notably, J&K dominated the clash throughout the five days, putting in a brilliant show with the bat. Batting first, the
side posted a total of 584 runs in the first innings after Yawer Hassan scored 88 runs and Shubham Pundir scored 121 runs, and the remaining batting order made notable contributions as well.
Speaking of Karnataka, after conceding 584 runs in the first innings, the side only managed to score 293 runs in response, as Mayank Agarwal scored 160 runs, but the remaining batters could not amount to much.
Auqib Nabi was the star performer in the first innings once more with five wickets to his name. Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh took two wickets each, with Sahil Lotra striking once as well.
