Sunil Narine bailed the Kolkata Knight Riders out in the Super Over in a thrilling contest against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, April 26. After Mohammed Shami pushed the game in the Super Over with a six off the final ball of LSG's 156-run chase, Narine bowled the Lucknow batters out for just one run in the single over shoot-off. Rinku Singh, who had kept KKR alive in the game earlier, hit the winning runs on the first ball of the Super Over as KKR romped home.

The match went down to the wire in the regulation 40 overs. LSG needed 17 runs off the final over with Himmat Singh and Mohammed Shami in the middle. Kartik Tyagi came in to bowl the final over but erred bigtime with his length as he sent down two above the waist-height full-tosses as Himmat brought the equation down to eight needed off four balls.

Himmat departed on the third ball of the over, caught out at deep square as Rinku Singh garbbed his fourth catch of the match. The next two balls brought just one run, and with seven required off the final ball, Shami nailed a six off Tyagi towards long-off to take things in the Super Over.

LSG sent in Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran for the one-over shoot-off with Sunil Narine in to bowl the over. Narine has a strong

record against Pooran and cleaned him up on the first ball. Rishabh Pant walked in next and took a single on the next ball before Markram was caught in the deep at long-on with Rovman Powell and Rinku Singh combining for a good catch.

KKR sent Rinku and Powell in to chase down the meagre two-run target in the Super Over with Prince Yadav bowling. Prince missed his wide yorker as Rinku sliced it to get the winning fours. This was KKR's second win of the season, which lifts them off from the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table.

Rinku Singh produced a brilliant unbeaten 83 under pressure as Kolkata Knight Riders recovered to 155/7 despite Mohsin Khan’s impressive 5/23 in their Indian Premier League clash against the Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday. KKR were reeling at 93/7 after 15 overs before their vice-captain Rinku took charge, smashing four consecutive sixes in the final over to register a career-best 83 off 51 balls (7 fours, 5 sixes) and lift his side to a competitive total.

Rinku crafted a superbly paced innings, taking apart Mohammed Shami in the 19th over with a sequence of 6, 4, 4, before hammering four consecutive sixes off spinner Digvesh Rathi. The late onslaught powered Kolkata Knight Riders to 43 runs in the final two overs, pushing them past the 150-run mark.
