Royal Challengers Bengaluru will wear their iconic green jerseys as part of their 'Green Initiative' during their home match against Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, April 18. These jerseys, crafted from recycled materials, symbolise the franchise’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Remarkably, Royal Challengers Bengaluru stands as the only carbon-neutral T20 franchise worldwide.

Since the initiative's inception in 2011, RCB has consistently integrated sustainability into its operations, focusing on measurement, accountability, and fan engagement, with an aim to achieve carbon positivity.

Rajesh Menon, CEO of Royal Challengers

Bengaluru, commented on the initiative, stating,

“Achieving carbon-neutral status as a T20 franchise is the result of years of dedicated work. The green jerseys reflect this commitment, and we hope this initiative inspires our fans and stakeholders to embrace more responsible and sustainable practices.”

A pivotal aspect of RCB’s sustainability efforts involves a thorough analysis of fan behaviour on matchdays. By conducting stadium-wide surveys across all stands, the franchise examines commute patterns, ride-sharing habits, and estimates carbon emissions per spectator, aiming for a comprehensive understanding of the environmental impact of fan travel.
