The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) honoured the Indian armed forces’ ‘Operation Sindoor’ during Match 57 of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) on Wednesday, May 7 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. India conducted a military operation dubbed ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The entire nation is celebrating the success of the operation and even the BCCI honoured the achievement of the Indian armed forces. Ahead of the game, players from both Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings



(CSK) stood for the national anthem. During the game, ‘Proud of our armed forces’ was displayed time and again on the big screen.

Meanwhile, KKR posted a massive score of 179/6 in their allotted 20 overs after opting to bat first. Captain Ajinkya Rahane top scored for his team with his innings of 48 (33) while Andre Russell (38 off 21) and Manish Pandey (36* off 28) also made valuable contributions. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers for CSK, registering figures of 4/31 in four overs.

The left-arm spinner dismissed Sunil Narine (26 off 17), Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh (9 off 6).
