IPL 2024: RR become 2nd team to qualify for playoffs after KKR

RR have officially become the 2nd team to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2024 after KKR. This happened after DC thrashed LSG by 19 runs in their last home game of the season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on May 14, Tuesday. With this result, RR have made a direct entry to the playoffs and will eye a top 2 finish.

Earlier, CSK had halted RR's chance of making it to the playoffs by handing them a 5-wicket defeat in their last home game of the league stage at the M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. However, RR have reached 16 points with 8 wins in 12 matches and that



was enough for them to lock their position in the top 4. With LSG's loss, RR remained the only team after KKR who would be able to reach a maximum of 20 points after the end of the league stage.

RR will ensure a sure-shot finish in the top 2 if they manage to beat PBKS in their next match at the Baraspara Stadium, Guwahati on May 15, Wednesday. However, RR will look to gain their winning momentum, after having lost their last 3 encounters against SRH, DC and CSK. However, Rajasthan had won 4 matches on the trot before this and with just one loss in early 9 encounters.
