IPL 2023: Gujarat Titans register easy win over Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets

Gujarat Titans thrashed Rajasthan Royals in the 48th match of IPL 2023 on Friday. In the match played at RR's homeground Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, GT won by nine wickets. Coming to bat first after winning the toss, Sanju Samson-led RR were bundled out for 118 in 17.5 overs. Coming to chase, the Hardik Pandya-led team scored 119 runs in just 13.5 overs. 

With the win, GT have retained top position on the points table with 14 points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.752. On the other hand RR are at the fourth position with 10 points and NRR of 0.448.

Gujarat did not face any problems in achieving the target of 119 runs. Openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha started on a strong note but the former got out after scoring 36 runs. After this, Hardik Pandya and Saha took charge and guided their team to victory. Hardik scored 39 runs and Saha scored 41 runs. Only Yuzvendra Chahal was able to get a wicket for the Rajasthan Royals.

The start of the Rajasthan Royals was not at all good. When Jos Buttler returned



to the hut after scoring just 8 runs. After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal got out after scoring 14 runs. Captain Sanju Samson tried to stabilize the innings, but he was dismissed after scoring only 30 runs. Devdutt Paddikal scored 12 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin scored 2 runs, Riyan Parag scored 4 runs, Shimron Hetmyer registered 7 runs, and Dhruv Jurel scored 9 runs. The team was bundled out at just 118 runs.

Gujarat Titans' bowlers bowled brilliantly in the match. Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, and Joshua Little took 1 wicket each. Rashid Khan took 3 wickets for just 14 runs in his four overs and Noor Ahmed took 2 wickets.
