A solid performance to qualify in the play-offs was needed and Sunrisers Hyderabad did just what the doctor ordered. David Warner's team first restricted comeback man Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians at 149 and then chased down the target with 10 wickets remaining to register an emphatic win and announce their arrival in IPL 2020 play-offs in style.

It would be wrong to not mention that the 4-time champions made SRH's do-or-die match an easy one by resting two of the best bowlers -- Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. The absence of two of the highest wicket-takers in the league, gave a free pass to David Warner (85*) and Wriddhiman Saha (58*) as they raced through the finishing line to kick Kolkata Knight Riders out of the play-offs.

Notably, KKR were hoping for Hyderabad to lose their last league match so that they could finish with 2 points more than them and enter the next stage. KKR, RCB and SRH have 14 points each after the end of the match, but NRR of Eoin Morgan's side is the weakest. Table-toppers MI were

the first team to qualify for the play-offs, while RCB and DC got their tickets confirmed yesterday.

After winning the toss and asking MI to bat first, SRH bowlers started with bowling tight lines and keeping Mumbai opners Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock in check. Rohit Sharma (4) was the first one to lose his patience as he chipped a Sandeep Sharma delivery in the hands of David Warner in the third over. Quinton de Kock (25) was looking good but Sandeep struck again in the 5th over to send him back in the pavilion.

Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan partnered for 42 runs but that came off 39 balls despite some scintilating boundaries by the fomer in the middle.

Pollard (41 off 25) went wild towards and targetted T Natarajan especially to take his team close to the 150-run mark. The hard-hitting West Indian departed on the 3rd ball of 19th over but not before smashing a gigantic six on the 2nd. James Pattinson and Dhawal Kulkarni added 4 runs after his departure and remained unbeaten.
