Sunrisers Hyderabad players were sporting black armbands to condole the death of Afghanistan cricketer Najeeb Tarakai during Match 22 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 against Kings XI Punjab in Dubai on Thursday. Tarakai died at 29 last week after getting severely injured in a car crash.

Najeeb Tarakai was a good friend of SRH spinner Rashid Khan who had insisted that he and his teammates wear a black armband for their game against



KXIP, according to commentator Michael Slater. Tarakai succumbed to fatal injuries after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Nangarhar, Afghanistan.

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner and his fellow opener Jonny Bairstow were spotted wearing black armbands when they were batting at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Notably, Rashid was a good friend of Tarakai who represented Afghanistan in 1 T20I and 12 ODIs as an opener.
