There was no Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers's show in Dubai in a steep run chase as Delhi Capitals came up with an all-round effort to clinch a 59-run win and top the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 table. Royal Challengers Bangalore did not gather any kind of momentum during their poorly-constructed chase on Monday as none of their big guns got going.

Kagiso Rabada was too hot to handle as Royal Challengers Bangalore found it tough to negate the well-oiled Delhi Capitals bowling attack. The South Africa pacer, who finished with figures of 4 for 24, got the big wicket of Virat Kohli while his partner in crime Anrich Nortje got the in-form AB de Villiers. Spinners Axar Patel and R Ashwin were on top of their games as well as they picked up 3 wickets conceding just 44 runs between them in 8 overs.

RCB managed just 137 for 9 in their quota of 20

overs as they found batting difficult on a pitch that was slowing down as the game progressed. In fact, It was Virat Kohli who won the toss and opted to field even as the pitch used in Dubai was the same one where Chennai Super Kings defeated Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.

Chasing 197, RCB needed a good opening stand but Ashwin and Axar got the early breakthrough removing Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch to dent the chasing side inside the powerplay. The RCB and Australia opener got a couple of lifelines as Kagiso Rabada dropped a sitter off his own bowling after which Ashwin decided against Mankading him when he strayed out of the crease but luck ran out soon when Axar hit the timber.

RCB were dealt with a heavy blow when Delhi Capitals' high-impressive seamer Anrich Nortje got the big wicket of AB de Villiers for 9 in the final over of the powerplay.
