After defending champions Mumbai Indians ended on the losing side of the nail-biting opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2020 opener, MI captain Rohit Sharma said that his batsmen failed to build on to their good starts.

Bumrah to Dhoni, OUT! Umpire raises his finger for the caught-behind appeal, but Dhoni reviews it straightaway. Replays show the ball missed the bat by a country mile. DRS saves MS.

Faf du Plessis ends the match with a boundary! Chennai Super Kings (166/5) beat Mumbai Indians (162/9) by 5 wickets in

opening game. Rayudu (71), du Plessis (58*). This is the first time CSK have beaten MI in 2 years.

The 33-year-old said credited CSK and their bowlers, adding that they kept the MI batsmen guessing. IPL's most successful captain Rohit Sharma said that starting on a winning note is important in a series like IPL but the team would hopefully learn from today's mistake and come back stronger.

Further, Rohit Sharma apperciated BCCI for having artificial pre-recoreded fan chants and hoped that spectators would soon return to the stadium.
