Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh, opener Shikhar Dhawan, and all-rounder Yusuf Pathan have pulled out of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 exhibition match between India and Pakistan. India Today has learnt that the trio pulled out of the game, set to take place on Sunday, July 20, late in the evening on Saturday. It is not yet known if they pulled out of the game after facing social media backlash over the event.
This was supposed to be the first cricketing event between India and Pakistan since Operation Sindoor. Sources have told India Today that the match, which was set to be held at Edgbaston, might be cancelled as well. However, the final call on the matter is yet to be taken.
While both Harbhajan, Shikhar and
Pathan haven't made the decision official, it is believed that the Pahalgam attack and the aftermath of it had a bearing in their decision.
