The Indian men’s cricket team is set to play a three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in July this year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule on Wednesday, with matches to be played on July 23, 25 and 26.
The opening game of the Zimbabwe tour is scheduled just four days after India play their final match of the England tour. The white-ball squads will travel to England for five T20Is and three ODIs in July, a series expected to play a key role in shaping combinations for the ODI World Cup 2027.
While the ODI and T20I setups are largely separate, key players such as Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh continue to feature in both formats. Bumrah is widely expected to skip bilateral T20Is this season, but the same may not apply to players like Axar
Patel.
This will also mark India’s return to Zimbabwe after two years. The team last toured the African nation in July 2024, a series in which Abhishek Sharma, Dhruv Jurel, and Riyan Parag made their India debuts. The squad for the upcoming tour is expected to feature several young players, with the management likely to reward performers from the Indian Premier League.
