ICC Player of the Month: Shafali Verma named, no Indian shortlisted for men's award

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the shortlists for the Men's and Women's Player of the Month awards for December 2025, recognising a range of standout performances that brought the year to a close. While India feature prominently in the women's list through Shafali Verma, there is no Indian representation among the men's nominees.

series whitewash of Sri Lanka. Shafali amassed 241 runs at a staggering average of 80.33 and a strike rate of 181.20, registering three consecutive half-centuries. Her fluent 79 in the fourth T20I came in a record-breaking opening stand that powered India to their highest-ever T20I total.

The men's shortlist is led by Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc, along with New Zealand seamer Jacob Duffy and West Indies all rounder Justin Greaves.
