First ODI between India and South Africa to be played today

The first One Day International of the 6-match series between India and South Africa will be played at Kingsmead, Durban today. 

After losing the Test series, 1-2, Team India will be looking to bounce back with an improved performance in the limited overs format. India has never won a bilateral series in South Africa



and is also yet to record an ODI victory against the Proteas at Durban. 

The hosts will be without their star batsman AB de Villiers who has been ruled out for the first three games due to a finger injury. Rain could play spoilsport today as showers have been forecast throughout the day.
