Leeds: England will resume their first innings against India at the overnight score of 423 for 8 on day three of the third Test match at Headingley in Leeds today. The hosts have a massive lead of 345 runs. The match will begin at 3:30 pm.

On Day 2, the visitors fought back well with wickets at regular intervals but England scored at a healthy run-rate throughout the day and were placed at 423 for 8 after 129 overs. In-form skipper Joe Root led from the front smashing yet another hundred, a splendid 121 off 165 balls. Craig Overton and Ollie Robinson were at the crease when stumps were



drawn.

For India, Mohammed Shami was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj bagged two wickets each and Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket.

Earlier, the hosts resumed their innings on second day at the overnight score of 120 for no loss. On the opening day, after opting to to bat first, India were bundled out for 78 in their first innings by the English pacers. India have a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after trouncing England by 151 runs at Lord’s in the second Test.
