England were 198 for 7 against India at the stump on the opening day of the fifth and final Test match at the Oval in London yesterday. Jos Butler 11 and Adil Rashid 4 were on the crease when the stumps were drawn for the day. 

Opener Alastair Cook hit a memorable half-century in his career's final match while Moeen Ali made 50. For India, Ishant Sharma picked up three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja struck twice each to trigger England's collapse in the final session of the opening day. 

England have already taken an unassailable 3-1 lead in the 5 match series. India won the third Test at Nottingham.
