Team India took up a great initiative on day two of the Lord's Test as players could be seen donning the red cap. The players came up with Red caps to support the Ruth Strauss Cancer Foundation which was started by former English skipper Andrew Strauss. Strauss' wife Ruth Strauss passed away in 2018 after her long battle with lung cancer.

After her death, Strauss took another noble step and reached out to former Australian great Glenn McGrath, who was also trapped in similar situations.  McGrath's wife Jane passed away due to breast cancer. Owing to the same sequence of events, Strauss set up the foundation on his wife's name which 'aids families facing the death of a parent and drives the need for more research into non-smoking lung cancer.'

The second day of the Lord's Test is being celebrated as 'Red for Ruth' day. Apart from players, the set of broadcasters and presenters also donned the red attires.

India dominating the second Test at the Lord’s against England

Talking about Lord's Test, India was in a dominating position before they started losing wickets in a row on the 2nd day of the Test. KL Rahul flaunted class and patience yet again as he smashed a brilliant century (129). Rohit Sharma on the other hand added good 83 runs from his end and pushed India to post a good total on the board. One more thing that grabbed the attention on day one was Virat Kohli putting some crucial runs for India.

Though the Indian skipper is currently struggling with his form, he played a fighting knock of 42 runs before giving his wicket to Ollie Robinson. Talking of match currently, India is playing on 318 runs (at the time of writing) where Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant are doing the job. After setting up the perfect tone on day one, India would be keen on winning the 2nd game at Lord's after the first one resulted in a draw. Rain played spoilsport during the Trent Bridge Test while India dominated going on day five.
