Mumbai: Adani Sportsline paid a staggering Rs 1289 crore for the Ahmedabad team, which emerged as the most expensive franchise, and the BCCI received a windfall of Rs 4669.99 crore for the sale of five teams in the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL).

Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals, owners of IPL teams, made successful bids to join the WPL for Rs 912.99 crore,



Rs 901 crore, and Rs 810 crore, respectively.

For Rs 757 crore, Capri Global Holdings acquired the Lucknow franchise.

“The bidding for teams in the inaugural WPL broke the records set by the inaugural Men's IPL in 2008, making today a historic day in cricket! We received Rs. 4669.99 crore in total bid, so congratulations to the winners,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah tweeted.
