In the ICC Cricket World Cup, Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in their seventh round-robin match at Southampton this afternoon. The match will begin at 3 PM (Indian Standard Time).

Bangladesh breathed a sigh of relief after Sri Lanka defeated hosts England recently and the Mashrafe Mortaza-led side will be desperate to register a big win over already out Afghanistan today to keep their hopes of sealing a semi-final berth alive. Bangladesh have five points from six games and they are sixth in the 10-team points table. Afghanistan is rock bottom without a win.

The table is led by New Zealand with 11 points, followed by defending champions Australia at the second spot with 10 points. India are third with nine points. Hosts England are fourth with eight points, Sri Lanka fifth with six, followed by Bangladesh at seventh with five points.

Pakistan also have five points from six games but they are eighth due a poor net run rate. South Africa is ninth and Afghanistan 10th and they both are out of the tournament.
