India captain Rohit Sharma achieved a new milestone on Wednesday, August 31 as he became the first man to complete 3,500 runs in T20I cricket. Rohit got to the landmark during India's Asia Cup Group A match against Hong Kong in Dubai.

Rohit Sharma overtook Martin Guptill on the list of batters in men's T20I during the Asia Cup 2022 opener against Pakistan in Dubai. The India captain got out for a quickfire 21 against Hong Kong and finished with a total tally of 3520 runs in 134 matches in T20I cricket.

Rohit Sharma struggled to get going against Pakistan in the opening match of the tournament. The India skipper managed just 12 runs from 18 balls as



Pakistan spinners Shadabab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz left him uncomfortable in the middle.

However, on Wednesday, Rohit came out all guns blazing, taking on the onus even as vice-captain KL Rahul struggled to get going in the powerplay against Hong Kong. Rohit hit 2 boundaries and a six but he fell while trying to up the ante in the 5th over bowled by Ayush Shukla.
