Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Suresh Raina achieved a major landmark when he took the field against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Raina, who had started his IPL career with CSK in 2008, completed 200 matches in his IPL career.

Suresh Raina became only the 4th player to do so after Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma and Kolkata Knight Riders wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli will join Raina and others on the list when he leads his side against Sunrisers Hyderabad next week.

Raina, who was Dhoni's vice-captain from 2008 to 2019, didn't miss a single IPL fixture in the first 8 seasons. He missed

a game for Gujarat Lions (GL) during his two-year stint with them. Raina moved back to CSK in 2018 and has been with them.

Raina, who had pulled out of IPL 2020 in the UAE due to personal reasons, has begun IPL 2021 on his return to CSK on a good note, hitting a fifty in their opener against Delhi Capitals. After a string of low scores, Raina showed signs of a return to form with a handy knock against table-toppers RCB.

Earlier, Raina became the 7th batsman to hit 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League when he hit his 2 big ones in Match 19 of IPL 2021 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday. Raina got to the landmark when he hit RCB spinner Washington Sundar into the long-on stands at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
