The Indian Premier League fans can finally rejoice as the new schedule of the season has been finally released with an absolute cracker to start the 16th edition of the competition.

The festivities will start on the 31st of March with the defending champions, Gujarat Titans, taking on the Chennai SuperKings with MS Dhoni looking to claim his fifth title with the franchise.

We will see a total of 70 league matches being played across 52 matchdays and the first double-header of the new season will be played on 1st April.

Two-time Champions Kolkata KnightRiders will take on Punjab Kings in Mohali in the 3:30 PM game and then Lucknow Supergiants face the Delhi Capitals in the 7:30 PM match.

Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will start their respective campaigns with a face-off against each other on 2nd April in Bengaluru.

We will also be seeing the 1000th IPL match during the course of the 2023 season with blockbuster clash between Chennai SuperKings and Mumbai Indians at the iconic Chepauk stadium.

Speaking of Chepauk, the fans in Chennai will be gearing up to welcome their 'thala' Dhoni back home on 3rd April as CSK will face KL Rahul's LSG.

The 10 teams will be split into two groups with Group A consisting of KKR, RR, MI, DC and LSG and Group B having GT, CSK, RCB, SRH and PBKS.

The schedule and venues for the Playoffs and Final will be announced later. The final of the TATA IPL 2023 will be played on May 28, 2023.
