Tokyo: Indian boxer Satish Kumar has entered the quarterfinals of Men's Super Heavyweight category at Tokyo Olympics. He defeated Jamaica's Ricardo Brown 4-1 to reach the last eight in plus 91 kilogram category. Satish Kumar has become the third Indian boxer to reach the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Games.  In quarterfinals Satish Kumar will take on B. Jalolov of Uzbekistan on Sunday.

Indian archer Atanu Das progressed to the pre-quarterfinals of men's individual archery event at Tokyo Olympics. He defeated South Korea's Oh Jin-Hyek 6-5 this morning. Earlier, Atanu Das defeated Chinese Taipei's Olympics men's team silver medallist Deng Yu-Cheng by 6-4 in the 1/32 elimination round.

In pre-quarterfinals Atanu Das will meet T. Furukawa of Japan on Saturday.  Deepika Kumari, who yesterday defeated Jennifer Mucino Farnandez of US in the elimination round will meet Ksenia Perova of Russia olympic committee in pre-quarter finals at 6 am tomorrow.

Indian golfer Diksha Dagar has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 after South Africa's Paula Reto withdrew and Austria decided not to make a reallocation for their golfer Sarah Schober. International Golf Federation has reallocated that vacant spot to Diksha



Dagar. Diksha Dagar is not in the Olympic village at present, but Indian Golf Union said that they would ensure she reaches Tokyo on time. Apart from Dagar, Aditi Ashok will also represent India in women's golf at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

India's ace shooters Manu Bhaker secured fifth place in the women's 25-m pistol qualification (precision) event at Tokyo Olympics. Manu Bhaker amassed 292 points at an average of 9.733 after shooting 30 shots on the target in the precision round. Rahi Sarnobat secured at 18th place by gathering 287 points in the qualifications. The second stage of the qualification  the rapid round  will take place tomorrow.

In rowing, India's pair of Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh finished 5th in the Lightweight Double sculls Final B and 11th overall with a time of 6:29.66. In sailing, India's Vishnu Saravanan finished 23rd in Race 8 of men's One Person Dinghy Laser Radial while Nethra Kumanan finished 20th in Race 8 in women's One Person Dinghy Laser Radial. Sailors Varun Thakkar and KC Ganapathy finished 7th in Race 6 in Men's 49er. India's golfers Anirban Lahiri and Udayan Mane began their campaign at Tokyo 2020 Men's Individual Stroke Play.
