Tokyo: India’s Bhavina Patel has settled for Silver medal in the table tennis event at Tokyo Paralympics. Bhavina lost to China’s Ying Zhou in the final on Sunday.

She had entered the final beating China’s Zhang Miao in a closely-contested semi-final match yesterday. Bhavina scripted history by becoming the first Indian table tennis player to enter the final in the Paralympics.

President, Vice President and Prime Minister have congratulated Bhavina Patel on winning silver medal in Table Tennis at the Tokyo Paralympics.

President Ram Nath Kovind said, Bhavina Patel inspires the Indian contingent and sportslovers winning silver at Paralympics. Mr Kovind said, her extraordinary determination and skills have brought glory to India.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, the entire nation is proud of her remarkable accomplishment. Mr Naidu conveyed best wishes for her future endeavours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, the remarkable Bhavina Patel has scripted history as she brings home a historic Silver medal. Mr Modi said, her life journey is motivating and will also draw more youngsters towards sports.

India's Nishad Kumar has won silver medal with a best effort of 2.06 meter in Men's High Jump T47 event.

Nishad Kumar also created a new Asian Record with the effort. Ram Pal finished 5th with a personal best mark of 1.94m.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, India is proud of Nishad Kumar's glorious accomplishment. He wished, Mr Kumar for his bright future ahead.

Kumar and congratulated him on winning the Silver medal in Men’s High Jump T47 event at Tokyo Paralympics. The athlete thanked Mr Modi and also appreciated the continuous encouragement, the Prime Minister gives to para-athletes.

Earlier in a tweet, Prime Minister Modi said, Nishad Kumar is a remarkable athlete with outstanding skills and tenacity.

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has also congratulated Nishad Kumar for winning silver medal. 

 Vinod Kumar wins Bronze medal with a best effort of 19.91 meter in Men's Discus Throw F52 event. Vinod Kumar also broke the Asian Record with the effort. India has won three medals so far.

President Ram Nath Kovind has congratulated Vinod Kumar for winning Bronze medal at Paralympics. In a tweet, Mr Kovind said that Vinod Kumar has done India proud with his podium finish. The President appreciated his grit and determination and wished him scale greater heights of success.

Congratulating Vinod Kumar for winning a Bronze medal at Men's Discus Throw F52 event at a Tokyo Paralympics, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said that the nation is elated at his win. The Vice President said, this National Sports Day has become all the more special with phenomenal display by the county's athletes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Vinod Kumar for winning bronze medal. In a tweet, Mr Modi said that India is rejoicing thanks to Vinod Kumar’s stupendous performance. He said, the hard work and determination of Vinod Kumar is yielding outstanding results.

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has congratulated Vinod Kumar for winning Bronze medal in Discus Throw at Tokyo Paralympics. In a tweet, Mr Thakur said, India has won it’s 3rd Medal at Tokyo Paralympics and this is turning out to be an epic on this National Sports Day.
