Australia defeated Argentina while Japan beat Poland in group league of Kabaddi World Cup at Ahmedabad in Gujarat last night.After losing two matches, the Australian team bounced back with a clinical performance against bottom placed Argentina. In a group A match, Australia registered their first victory by thrashing Argentina 68-45. 
Australia's Kuldeep and Jasvir Singh put up a good show and both collected 25 points together to disable the defense and attack of the opponent team.
Japan notched up its second



win in as many matches to enhance its chances of advancing to the semifinals of the 2016 kabaddi World Cup. In a Group-B low-scoring match, the Japanese team beat Poland 33-22. With ten points the South East Asian team is now placed No. 2 behind Iran. 
Skipper Masayuki Shimokawa scored four raid points and three tackle points and Kazuhiro Takano proved to be a very successful raider with seven points.
