Manila: India's ace shuttler P.V Sindhu advanced in quarterfinal of Asia Championships in Manila beating lowly-ranked Yann Jaslyn of Singapore Hooi by straight set 21-16, 21-16 in women’s singles. Sindhu will face He Bingjiao in quarterfinal clash. In men's doubles, Indian duo Ranki Reddy and Chirag Shetty also registered a thumping straight-set win over Akira Koga and Taichi



Saito of Japan by 21-17,21-15.

However, Saina Nehwal's dream of claiming her fourth medal in the prestigious tournament ended after she ran out of steam to eventually lose 21-12, 7-21, 13-21 to 22-year-old Chinese Wang Zhi Yi, ranked 16th in the world. Another Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth also crashed out of the tournament.
