Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu made an early exit from the All England Open 2025, bowing out in the first round. Sindhu, ranked 16th in the world in women's singles, suffered a 21-19, 13-21, 13-21 defeat to lower-ranked Kim Ga-eun of South Korea in Birmingham on Wednesday, 12 March. The match lasted an hour and a minute.

Sindhu started strong, winning the opening game, but allowed Kim to fight back, ultimately crashing out of the prestigious Super 1000 tournament in disappointing fashion. The Indian shuttler struggled to find her rhythm in the last two games, where Kim

dictated the rallies with ease.

This marks Sindhu's fourth consecutive early exit from the All England Open since her semi-final run in 2021. Despite having won major titles, including the World Championships, she has consistently struggled to make a deep run in Birmingham.

V Sindhu began the year with a quarter-final run at the India Open in January. However, a hamstring injury kept her out of action in February. On her return, she faced a challenging draw at the All England Open, with a potential second-round match against fourth seed Yu Han of China.
